Castle Builder

Castle Builder Slot game review

If you're a fan of fantasy games or just perhaps a bricklayer that has some spare time on their hands, then 'Castle Builder' is definitely for you. This comes from Rabcat who are based in Vienna and have come up with some cracking slot games in recent years.

'Castle Builder' is a five reel game with a total of 15 paylines. Just how many you decide to play is entirely up to you and the game can be played from between £0.01 and £15 per spin. Finding a way of playing and fitting in with your financial budget shouldn't be a problem here.

The game is set in a medieval world and we have to venture from kingdom to kingdom. There's Ethril, Ilrian and Forana and on our travels we'll meet kings and knights and have to build castles for a gorgeous looking princess.

The game has a really different look from what you're probably used to playing. The 5x3 reels are on the right hand side of the screen and don't take up that much space. On the left of the screen is a stunning graphic of the kingdom with lots of trees surrounding a patch of land on which you can see the castle that has to be built.

There are nine symbols in this game and although four of them are the Ten, Jack, Queen and King, they are presented in a great way. It's a mix between themed symbols and the playing card numbers. We have four symbols that have a character on them with the card number in the bottom right hand corner. All a big logical as the game has an actual King with two daughters and Queen.

There's also a box full of jewels, a treasure chest, a locked door and a money pouch. The wild symbol is the Castlebuilder himself and this can substitute for all other symbols in the game apart from the building symbols. Those are the ones you need in order to build your castle and come in standard, bronze, silver and gold symbols. You need to gather up a certain number in order to get the castle finished off and then you can get into the bonus feature. For that reason it's important to play as many of the paylines as possible.

Bonus Game

If you can get at least two of the building materials on an active payline then that's really good news. Two get you standard value blocks, three award you bronze value blocks, four takes you up to the silver level and five gets you gold value blocks. The better value blocks, the more your finished castle is worth unless there's a collapse in the property market but that's probably another game.
As you collect blocks they will gradually build up the castle in the space to the left of the reels.

Once you've managed to build your castle, the pretty princess gets to live in it. This isn't a dating game so the princess doesn't fall for you. No, instead you have to help choose her husband. You have three different suitors to choose from and as you might have guessed, each is worth a certain prize which depends on the value of the castle you've just built.

You really are on a journey in this game because remember there's three countries and they all fancy having a castle built. Once you finish one then there's no peace or rest for you that is for sure.

Conclusion

This really is a very interesting slot game. The design of it is superb and the story a strong one. There's lots of information about how to play the game and this often comes up on screen so you don't have to go to the paytable to find all you want to know. Definitely recommended.
