Gingerbread Lane

Gingerbread Lane Slot Review

I'm not sure just where Gingerbread Lane is but it certainly sounds a tasty address. This slot comes from Genesis Gaming who have been producing a whole string of excellent games since being formed seven years ago.

The story of this game is all about a gingerbread family and there’s a distinct Christmassy feel to it. All that candy cane definitely gives that impression. In the background we have the Gingerbread village with two candy frames on each side of the reels. Look out for the tiny gingerbread man who runs up and down to the gingerbread house.

It’s a five-reel game that has three rows and 25 paylines. Those paylines aren’t fixed so you have some decisions to make before you start spinning those reels. Firstly you need to decide your coin size and this goes from £0.01 to £0.20. Then decide just how many of the paylines you want to activate. As you activate an additional line a green gradually makes its way up the candy canes. Your final choice is how many coins to play on each of the activated paylines with a maximum of ten. That means the minimum cost is just £0.01 and the maximum £50. A decent range so just work out your financial budget and stick to it.

The symbols are a mixture of those that are theme related and those that aren’t. We get four gingerbread symbols, one putting the star on top of the Christmas tree, another with a Santa hat on, a gingerbread cat and a dog with a love heart above them and a couple underneath the mistletoe. The rest of the symbols are the nine to Ace
The wild symbol here is the star-spangled symbol and it can substitute for other symbols to create winning combinations. If it does then it’ll double the win. There’s also a scatter symbol which is the Gingerbread Lane logo. The wild doesn’t substitute for this.

There's a degree of animation with the symbols when you get a win and the Gingerbread Lane words above the reels do love to have a little dance.

Bonus Game

We all fancy some free spins to give our account balance a bit of a rest and that’s the centre point of the Christmas Present bonus game. Three of the scatter symbols will trigger this and once that’s done you’re taken to a second screen. This has the Gingerbread father and eight gifts. You need to choose one of them and this decides just how many free spins you receive plus the multiplier level. If you’re really lucky you can get 20 free spins and a 10x multiplier. While you’re enjoying your free spins three or more scatters will take you to the present choosing screen to get some more free spins.

Conclusion

This is a jolly little game which will probably leave you feeling rather peckish. The theme is a good one, a bit childish but there's no harm in that is there? The bonus game gives you the chance to get some good wins and that re-triggering possibility is always there.
