Hells Grannies

Hells Grannies Slot Review

Now Grannies aren't supposed to be horrible are they? The scariest moment they provide is usually in the form of the terrible clothing they insist on knitting for you. Oh and there's that kiss they expect when you say goodbye. Well it's a totally different story in this entertaining slot from Genesis.

I don't fancy meeting this lot of grannies, they're a right nasty bunch but really funny at the same time. I must admit i do keep thinking about those horrible grannies that were in Monty Python's Flying Circus but they look angelic compared to this bunch.

‘Hells Grannies’ is a a five-reel game with three rows and has a total of 25 paylines. The decision is entirely yours on how many of those lines you want to play as well as the coin size and the number of coins placed on each line. The minimum cost of playing the game is just a penny and the maximum is £250. That’s a really wide range so there shouldn’t be any problem at all in your finding a stake level that’s fits in perfectly with your financial budget.

The symbols are the best part of this game. The grannies really are hilarious though you wouldn't fancy meeting them in a dark alley. There's the granny with a mohican hair style, sunglasses earring and a cigarette in her mouth. Then we have the granny with the white hair and also smoking away, a pair of knuckles with Grannies tattooed on them, a wall with 'Knit Fast Die Warm' written on it and the Hells Grannies logo. Then they go and ruin it by padding out the reels with the nine to Ace playing card symbols. Why do that when they could have produced some more funny symbols?

The Knit Fast Die Warm symbol is the wild in this game. It substitutes for other symbols to create winning combinations you wouldn’t otherwise have had. It doesn’t substitute for the Hells Grannies logo as that’s the scatter symbol.

Playing the game is straightforward with all the major control buttons placed below the reels. It's not a complicated game but still have a good look through the paytable to get used to all the rules and have some free games too before putting your real cash on the line. It can be played in expert or regular mode. The only difference really is that in the expert mode you can set an autoplay feature. Also available are some handy statistics such as how long you've been playing for, biggest win etc.

Bonus Games

There’s just the one bonus game here and it’s of the free spins variety. To trigger it you need to get three or more of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. That means you have a good as any chance of triggering it even if you don’t activate many paylines.

Next up comes the Spin it to Win feature. There’s a big wheel and you spin this to decide how many free spins and the multiplier you have in the free spins round. Options are five spins with a 2x multiplier, 10, 15 or 20 free spins with a 3x multiplier or if you’re really lucky 20 free spins and a 5x multiplier. Once the free spins begin there is the chance to get those scatter symbols on the reels again and win yet more spins you don’t have to pay for.

Conclusion

This is definitely a fun game to play, I just wish they'd put a few more theme-related symbols into it. The bonus game is a straightforward one and can be really profitable if you're lucky with the spin of that wheel. Definitely recommended.
