The Bermuda Mysteries

The Bermuda Mysteries Slot Review

We all like a good mystery and the Bermuda Triangle has provided a fair few over the years. Everything from missing ships and planes all the way through to just why anyone bothered to buy the Barry Manilow single.

‘The Bermuda Mysteries’ is a slot from Nextgen Gaming and it’s certainly an interesting theme. The game has five reels, three rows of symbols and 25 paylines. You don’t have to be playing all those paylines on each spin, how many you play is totally up to you. Playing the game can cost from just £0.01 all the way up to £100 so this is perfect for those who just want to have some fun and others who are playing with the intention of getting big wins.
The background to the reels isn’t the most thrilling to be honest. All we get is the view of the sea that looks so rough you’d never be able to travel on it without being sea sick. Perhaps that’s why everything looks so blue and the sky so green. If that’s what the seas are like in that area it’s not that much of a mystery that airplanes and ships are disappearing there.

Symbols include a ship’s radio, a ship (that will probably never be seen again), a lifejacket and a World War Two fighter plane. We also get the Nine to Ace playing card symbols which is a bit of overkill to be honest, let’s have more theme-related symbols. Five of the airplane symbols on an active payline wins you 5000x your line bet.

The wild symbol here is the pilot but this only appears on the second, third and fourth reels. It can substitute for non-scatter symbols and help getting you some winning combinations. If the wild does do that then the win is doubled. The game has two scatter symbols, one is the golden badge and the other a map.

To find out more about the game, take a look through the paytable as this is packed with information about winning combinations, payouts, game rules etc. Also have some free games to see just how the game runs.
There’s an autoplay feature available which allows you to set between five and 500 automated spins of the reels.

Bonus Games

Three or more of the golden badge symbols anywhere on the reels awards you 12 free spins. With this being the case for triggering the free spins, it means it isn’t necessary to be activating plenty of paylines on each spin of the reels, just one will do actually.

During the free spins a green radar symbol is added to the fifth reel. Each time that makes an appearance the multiplier for the free spins round goes up by 1x. It’s not possible to re-trigger the free spins but you can activate the Rescue Bonus so I better tell you what that is.

The Rescue Bonus is a mini-game that can be triggered both from the base game and the free spins. All you need to do is get three or more of the map symbols anywhere on the reels. Doing so takes you off to a radar station and it’s your job to make picks from the locations identified on the map. If you can find a downed plane or wrecked ship then you win cash prizes. If you’re unlucky enough to find a freak wave, wormhole, whirlpool, broken compass or a flying saucer (honest), then this ends the game.

The game also features a gamble bonus that is available after each winning combination in the base game. You don’t have to play it and if you do it can lead to your win getting lost in the Bermuda Triangle. It’s the usual task of correctly guessing what the next card is. Get the colour right to double a win and the suit to quadruple it. Five correct guesses are available but this really is tricky so don’t overdo it.

Conclusion

An enjoyable Nextgen Gaming release. There’s plenty to keep you occupied here and the free spins round can be really profitable. Just be careful with the gamble feature though.
