Victorian Villain

Victorian Villains Slot Review

The Victorian age has been the inspiration for many a slot game. There’s been the industrial revolution, Sherlock Holmes of course and here we have some villains from the Victorian era. There’s no sign of Jack the Ripper though, he always gets away you know.

This is another successful slot from Microgaming and has a great look to it. On the left and right of the reels there are glowing street lights and we appear to be in Hanbury Street. ‘Victorian Villain’ has five reels, three rows of symbols and rather than a number of paylines, it has an ‘All Pays’ format. This means wins are paid out on symbols as long as they are on adjacent reels.

Victorian Villain features five reels and an ‘All Pays’ payline structure which means as long as symbols are in adjacent reels you’re onto a winner. The reels are placed between two glowing street lights attached to which are signs labelled Hanbury Street. Playing the game costs between £0.25 and £62.50. Simply go for a stake level that you are comfortable with and won’t cause you any financial problems.

Symbols include a female sleuth, the villain, a lady wearing a hat and a police officer. We also get the nine to Ace playing card symbols, at least one too many in my opinion.

The wild symbol is the Victorian Villain symbol and this can only be seen on the second, third or fourth reels. This can substitute for other symbols to get you some handy winning combinations. There are two other bonus symbols in this game, a skull that will aid you in getting some free spins and a Search For Clues symbol.

Bonus Games

Three of the skull bonus symbols gets you into the free spins round. These have to be anywhere on the first, second or third reels. Once triggered there’s a decision to be made over what happens during the free spins round.

You can either go for 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier, ten free spins with a 5x multiplier or just the five free spins with a 10x multiplier. The middle one looks good to me, decent number of free spins and a good multiplier. It’s also possible to re-trigger the free spins and get into the Search for Clues round.

Here you have to get the villain symbol on the third, fourth and fifth reels. This takes you to a room that has items which might be clues but then again they might not. You need to make some choices and can carry on doing so until you reveal a Collect message. All your wins are cash prizes so this can really be profitable.

Conclusion

A dark looking game but one that is definitely worth a play. The theme is a good one with a creepy soundtrack that you won’t want to instantly mute. The bonus game is a profitable one so travel back in time and give this a go and win some cash.
