Gunslingers Gold

Gunslingers Gold Slot Review

It’s cowboy time in this game from Nektan who have been producing some excellent games since launching in 2014. ‘Gunslinger’s Gold’ is set in the Wild West and it gives its players some great chances to get some healthy wins.

As is the case with other Nektan games that we have reviewed, the game has a superb look to it that really enhances the theme. In the background we can see the saloon where cowboys are renowned for playing card games and then shooting each other.

This is a five-reel game that has a total of 15 paylines. You can play this game on your computer or anywhere you want on your mobile devices. The number of paylines in the game isn't a fixed amount. That means you have to decide just how many lines to activate for each spin of the reels and how much you'll stake on them. Playing the game costs between £0.01 and £15.

Symbols in ‘Gunslinger’s Gold’ include money bags, cowboy boots, sheriff’s badges, a wanted poster and the gunslinger himself in his Stetson and smoking his pipe.

It’s not the gunslinger who is the wild symbol here, that honour goes to the big black bull. Well, would you tell him he’s not the wild? This is a really useful symbol as it can substitute for other symbols in the game to create winning combinations. It can’t do that for the Wanted Poster however as that’s the bonus symbol in this game.

There's not a massive amount going on in the game but it is advisable to have a look through the paytable and game rules before playing for real. Some free games are also a good idea as you build up your knowledge of the game.

Bonus Game

To get into the Free Spins Bonus Round you need to have three or more of the Wanted Poster bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. That's a handy fact to remember because it means that you don't have to be activating all the paylines all the time in order to have a chance to get some free spins, just one will do if you want.

Once the free spins bonus round has been activated you are given a total of 30 free spins and it’s possible to re-trigger these in that amount if another three Wanted Poster symbols pop up again. That has happened while I've played the game and it's excellent news when that happens. You can get some good wins in the bonus round but they don’t always come along on a regular basis.

Conclusion

An enjoyable enough game to play but it is rather basic. Everything seems to come down to how the wild gets on and the free spins, there's not much else on offer really. Perhaps an expanding or sticky wild in the free spins bonus round would have been a good idea. The theme is well executed though and the game has a good look to it so it's definitely worth a play.
