The story of Peter Pan has been a massive hit ever since it was written by J.M. Barrie in the 19th century. He probably didn’t imagine we’d still love his novel so much in the 21st century or being playing slot games based on it.
‘Hook’s Heroes’ is a slot from NetEnt who keep on releasing one excellent game after another. It has a rather cartoonish look to it and Captain Hook himself doesn’t look a great deal like he does in the movies or your local panto.

The wild symbol is Captain Hook, who was going to tell him he wasn’t? He can substitute for other symbols in the game and give us some winning combinations. That’s rather out of character for him being so kind. He can’t substitute for the scatter which is Peter Pan himself in a Crocodile costume. Knowing Hook he doesn’t want to get anywhere near a crocodile anyway.
Bonus Features
There’s plenty going on in this game as far as bonus features are concerned. There are three features that can be triggered randomly.
If you can get three scatter symbols anywhere on the reels then this triggers the free spins feature. There's actually three to choose from - The Mermaid, Fairy and Pirate features.With the Fairy Feature you receive seven free spins with between two and five wilds added to the reels.
In the Mermaid Feature there are ten free spins given to you. Any wins you get are doubled but if a wild symbol is involved in that win there’s a 4x multiplier attached to it.
There has to be a Pirate Feature of course and this sees you getting 15 free spins. They take place on a set of reels where each of the main symbols act as a scatter. If three appear then you’re guaranteed a win. There’s no wild symbols there to help you though.
If the Free Spins Feature is triggered by four Scatter Symbols you can choose to play two of the features. Five allow you to play all three.
If two of the scatter symbols land anywhere on the reels then this awards you one free spin. This is with one of the three features randomly chosen for you.
