It’s another trip around the globe for slot players and this time we have ancient temples that have seen far better days in ‘Mayan Marvels.’ It’s another release from Nektan who keep on producing more and more enjoyable games.
We get to see ancient artefacts and plenty of gold and treasure. The soundtrack reminds of me of a trip down to the local town centre with the pan pipe musicians murdering another well-known song and trying to get us to buy a CD of their greatest flops. At least with this game if the pan-pipes aren’t to your liking then you can press the mute button.
This is a five-reel game that has a total of 15 paylines offering you opportunities to get some good wins. Those 15 paylines aren’t a fixed amount so you have to decide how many to activate and how much to stake on them. Playing the game costs from as little as £0.01 If you choosebetween £0.01 and £15 so finding a level you can comfortably play at is no problem whatsoever.
The symbols are well drawn though with smooth animation throughout. They include four masks that have a different colour attached to them – red, blue, green and yellow. There’s also the game logo and five of those on an active payline win you 500x your line bet. We also get the Ten to Ace playing cards filling up the rest of the reels.
It’s the Gold Mask symbol that is the wild in this game. It simply substitutes for other symbols to get you some winning combinations. That’s all it does though and isn’t able to expand or become sticky which doesn’t make it as effective as wilds in other games.
The wild can’t substitute for the Spins bonus symbol as that would make it easier for you to get into the bonus game.

Getting the Spins symbols wins you thirty free spins. It's possible to get more bonus symbols turn up during these and if so that gets you more free spins.
Conclusion
A fairly standard game from Nektan. It looks good but has a soundtrack that will drive you mad unless you love the panpipes. You can get some decent wins in the free spins, the fact you're given thirty indicates you're not going to be getting win after win during the bonus game. It's an enjoyable game though and perhaps worth playing for a short while.
