Mythic Maidens Slot Review
Time for another slightly scary slot from NetEnt, a company who just keep on releasing excellent slot games. ‘Mythical Maiden’ isn’t totally scary though because there’s a fair bit of humour here too.
This is a five-reel game that has three rows of symbols and a total of 30 paylines just waiting to boost your cash balance. Those 30 paylines aren’t fixed so you have to decide your coin value (£0.01 to £0.50), the coin level (1-10) and the number of lines you want to activate. That means the minimum stake here is just £0.01 and the maximum £150. Simply decide on a level that you can afford to lose and have fun playing the game.
The background to the reels show an attic, this doesn’t look like one of those you’re going to find cash in. Instead here’s plenty of dusty and scary items and it’s going to take ages to get that place tidy. There’s a spooky soundtrack which fits in well with the game.
The symbols in ‘Mythic Maiden’ include a red chest, a skeletal hand that is holding a book (probably not Mills & Boon), a large black spider, a shrunken head and a skull with fangs. All really charming, Not! Other symbols are the Ten to Ace playing card symbols but they fit in slightly with the theme by being carved out of wax.
The moon that can be seen through a window is the wild symbol in this game and gets you wins by substituting for other symbols (not the scatter). If it does create a win then that win is subject to a 3x multiplier. The scatter symbol is the red orb and will help get you into the bonus round if enough of them come along so keep an eye out for them.
Have a good look through the paytable and game rules to find out as much as you can about the game. That and some free games will really help you win some cash on this game. If you fancy some time away from the screen simply press the autoplay button and a box comes up allowing you to set between ten and a thousand automated spins. Alternatively you can set an advance figure, for example stopping after a certain sized win that you’ll be eager to protect.
To get some free spins you need at least three of the scatter symbols to appear anywhere on the reels. Three get you ten free spins, four takes that number up to 15 and that total is doubled to 30 if you can get five scatters appear.
During the free spins, the iron maiden appears and this decides the multiplier you have. This can be as high as 10x if your luck is really in. More free spins can come your way too, either just a couple via the iron maiden or more if scatters make appearances in the required number.
A rather straightforward game with an enjoyable theme. The bonus game can certainly be profitable if you are lucky with the iron maiden (you’ll never moan about ‘Run to the Hills’ again) and the scatters play to your advantage.
