5 Knights

5 Knights Slot Review

It's time to take a trip back in time to medieval days where every man is either a hero or a villain and every woman seems to be a damsel in distress. This comes from NextGen who have a fabulous reputation when it comes to designing slot games.

This is a five-reel and 25 payline game with a little bit of a difference. This comes in the Slide a Wild enhancer. You can see this above the reels and offers you the chance to get some stacked wilds and even some multipliers too. The idea is that you simply use the slider to select any of the reels and this is then enhanced with stacked wilds and wild multipliers. If the slider is placed on the first reel the multiplier will be 2x. For the second it rises to 3x and goes up by one each time put the slider on the fifth reel and the multiplier will be a handy 6x.

The cash range in this game goes from £0.01 to £2 and the maximum per spin is £50. Simply decide your financial budget and gamble accordingly. The top prize in this game is won when you get five of the knights and this pays 500 times your stake.

Symbols in the game are partly theme-related. There's a damsel. medieval armour, a metal glove, an axe, a sword and the knight in shining armour. Then there's also the nine to Ace playing cards which is a bit of a waste really. Surely they could have come up with some other symbols that are more related to the theme of the game.

The wild symbol in this game is the shield and this will substitute for all the other symbols apart from the medieval castle which is the scatter symbol in '5 Knights.'

The look of the game is suitably medieval with a castle in the background and some very dark skies, sadly they haven't invented the umbrella yet. There's a bit of animation when the scatter symbol makes an appearance on the reels and when you do get a stack of wilds out comes a knight thankfully using his shield to protect him from the many arrows hurled in his direction. The soundtrack also suits the theme but is a bit repetitive.

There's also a gamble feature on wins. This has no link with the medieval theme but simply a chance to double your win by correctly choosing the colour of the next card. You can quadruple your win if managing to get right the suit of the next card. A pretty standard gamble feature and a shame they didn't try to apply the medieval theme to it.

All the control buttons are down at the bottom of the screen and there's an autoplay feature that can set up a massive 500 automated free spins if you wish.

Bonus Features

To activate the bonus game you need to get three of the medieval castle scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. This gets you free spins but that's not all the good news. All your wins are doubled during the free spins thanks to the stacked wild multipliers. Even better it's possible to re-trigger the bonus feature and get even more free spins to do some damage with.

Conclusion

The slider feature in this game certainly makes it interesting to play even when you don't get to trigger the bonus game. The jackpot isn't the highest around but there's still plenty of reasons to play and enjoy '5 Knights.'
