Judge Dredd

Judge Dredd Slot Review

Comic book fans will love this slot game from NextGen. They’re a slot company who keep on putting out some great games for players to enjoy and certainly know which themes will prove popular with fans.

Judge Dredd was the hero of the 2000AD and Mega City One and lives in a post-apocalyptic time when sentences are final. He has a great look to him and that’s portrayed well in the graphics for this game. In the background we see Mega City One and it doesn’t exactly look the ideal holiday destination that is for sure.

It’s a five-reel slot that has three rows and a total of 25 paylines. Those paylines are a fixed amount but you do have to decide your stake for each spin of the reels. The cost of playing the game goes from £0.25 to £50, just go for a stake that you feel comfortable with and won’t ruin your enjoyment of the game.

Symbols include Judge Dredd’s glove, his ‘lawgiver’ gun, a villain and a motorbike. Judge Dredd is the wild symbol in this game (who’s going to argue with him when he’s got that gun?) and can substitute for other symbols to create some winning combinations. Not so the scatter symbol though which is Judge Dredd’s gold badge. This has an important role in triggering the bonus round as will be explained shortly.

Getting five of the wild symbols on an active payline will win you 2000x your line bet. There’s also the nine to Ace playing card symbols which are the lower value cards in the game. I think there’s at least one too many here though and another theme related symbol would have been better.

This game features the NextGen Superbet and this gives you the chance to add some more wilds onto the reels However, this does entail you having to increase your stake for the wild to appear on between one and all the reels.

You can set an autoplay of between five and 100 spins in this game. It's not the most complicated of slot games but a look through the paytable will help you as will some free games.

Bonus Game

There’s also a random bonus where Judge Dredd suddenly makes an appearance after a spin of the reels. He shoots up the reels and then you get a cash bonus.

Three of the scatter symbols earn you ten free spins. During these free spins any win that you get will be doubled. There are also more wilds added to the reels so that gives you even more chance of getting some good wins. It’s also possible to re-trigger the free spins if those scatter symbols turn up on the reels again.

The game has a gamble feature but it’s one to be wary of. The game may be set in the future but the guess the card game has survived the apocalypse. It’s the usual guess the next card game (at least we get a deck of cards that has Judge Dredd on the front) with the correct guess of a colour doubling your win and the right suit quadrupling your win. Just don’t overdo this because it’s not the easiest of gambles.

Conclusion

Fans of Judge Dredd will be pleased with this slot version of their hero. It looks and sounds good and the bonus game can produce some good wins, definitely recommended.
