Plunder The Sea

Plunder The Sea Review

Under the sea there's often some treasure to be had. There's no pirates here though despite the fact there is a treasure chest involved in this scratchcard game from Microgaming. There's always a treasure chest isn't there? Better be quick then because those pirates might be on their way and you'll be keen to open it up yourself and see how much you can win.

The game has a real cartoonish look to it which is ok as far as I'm concerned. With the game having an underwater theme there's a lot of blue of course. Down the bottom of the screen (ocean?) on the left you can choose your stake and on the right is the box you want to see with a really high figure as that contains details of how much you've just won. In between them is the New Card button.

Above those two boxes are the the six bubbles and they contain a variety of underwater creatures. Now don't expect to see some cod or plaice, they're far more exciting and weird. Looking at them you suspect there might be a nuclear power plant somewhere nearby. There's a yellow starfish, a strange purple creature that could be a shrimp (I know what cod and plaice look like, if they haven't got batter on I'm stuck and that's from someone who lives by a Sea Life Centre). There's an octopus and a big shark too -I definitely know what they look like though I was swimming in the other direction - and a whale.

Playing the game costs between E0.50 and £10, a decent range so just choose one that you can afford to lose. Once you have decided your stake, press the New Card button. Your task is to get three identical underwater creatures to get a win. Three whales are the top prize as that pays 10,000 your bet. The details of how much each of the creatures pays is shown in the paytable.

You can either choose the bubbles one by one or press the 'Reveal All' button. If you choose the latter then that reveals all the bubbles contents in one go.

This is two games in one as there's that treasure chest. You simply need to open up the treasure chest and if there's a golden fish inside then you win 100x your bet. If your luck isn't in though all you'll reveal is the skeleton and that wins you absolutely nothing at all.

Conclusion

This is another great scratchcard game from Microgaming. There's nothing really new here but it is an entertaining game to play. It has a great look to it and is a bit like a Disney cartoon really. It's an easy game to play, I prefer going for the slow reveal rather than everything being over in a flash. There's some good prizes to be won here and if you are looking for a change from all those slot and card games you play then this is well worth a go.
