Treasure of the Pyramids

Treasure of the Pyramids Slot Review

Just how many slot games are there that have Ancient Egypt for a theme? It seems that there’s a multitude out there so when another one gets reviewed, the question is will it be anything different or just a near replica of what we’ve seen before. This one comes from 1x2 gaming and is certainly an interesting release.

The game has a good look to it which is always an important start. We see Egyptian hieroglyphics above the reels and on the left and right hand side of them are golden columns. ‘Treasure of the Pyramids’ is a five-reel game that has three rows of attractive symbols and 25 paylines. That’s not a fixed total so you need to work out just how many you want to activate on each spin of the reels. It all depends on your budget really, just go for a stake you can afford to lose. Playing the game costs between just £0.05 and a massive £1250, one for the high rollers there.

The four highest paying symbols are all Egyptian related. We get the Eye of Horus, a Statue of Horus, a Pharoaoh’s mask and a mask of Cleopatra. You can get payouts on that quartet for just two matching symbols on an active payline. Then we get the nine to Ace playing card symbols that are the lower value symbols.

The wild symbol here is the eye of many colours and this can really help get you some good wins. It does that by substituting for other symbols but not the scatter. That’s the scarab beetle and plays an important part in triggering the bonus game.

Make sure you find out as much about the game as you can before playing it. This means clicking your way into the paytable. That's packed with information such as how much each winning combination pays. It also has information about the bonus games that will come in handy when you get to play them. Also have some free games before playing for real.

Bonus Games

The Scarab Picking Game is triggered when three or more of the scarab beetle bonus symbols arrive on the reels. They can be anywhere on the reels so you don’t have to be activating too many paylines on each spin of the reel, just the one will do but best you have a decent stake on it.
Off we go to a screen that shows an urn, a statuette and a sarcophagus. Just pick one, watch it dissolve into a shower of gems and then see what cash prize you’ve won.

Conclusion

There are plenty of other Egyptian themed games out there that are better than this. It’s still a good game and has a good look and sound to it but it could be a bit more creative. Why so many playing card symbols and the bonus game is over before you know it. Worth a short play though and any wins are always going to be appreciated aren't they?
