Gorilla Go Wild

Gorilla Go Wild Slot Review

Gorilla's are always a good theme for a slot game. You can go down the King Kong route and have a giant scary one or go for the big but playful cartoonish look. 'Gorilla Go Wild' is a slot from NetEnt who continue to keep on releasing some great games. This definitely goes down the happy gorilla route and has a fun look to it.

King Kong sounded scary, Gary the Gorilla not quite so. He's the hero of 'Gorilla Go Wild' and while Kong battled dinosaurs and the US Army, Gary is more interested in working out where his next banana is going to come from. In this 3D game he's there to the left of the reels and gives us a big cheer when we get a win.

The game has five reel, three rows of symbols and a total of 30 fixed paylines. Playing the game costs between £0,30 and £60. That's a decent range so there shouldn't be a problem finding a level you can comfortably bet at.

The main symbols are a gold coin, a monkey, a puffin and a bush-baby. There's also the nine to Ace playing card symbols as the lower value symbols. I'd have preferred a few more theme related symbols to be honest. The wild symbol is Gary the Gorilla. He may look sweet (though he does have a tendency to scratch a certain part of himself) but I'm not going to be the one to tell him he can't be the wild symbol in his own game. He helps get you some wins by substituting for other symbols in the game. Not the pyramid temple though because that's the scatter symbol and helps get us into the bonus game.

After each win in the base game there's the chance to gamble it. Yes, it's the usual double your win by correctly guessing the colour of the next card or quadruple it by getting the suit of the next card right. Just be careful with this as you can easily gamble away decent wins.

There's a random bonus that comes along every now and then. At the end of the spin Gary gets a bit peckish and grabs one of the bananas that is above him. He eats it and when all the bananas have gone, Gary and the reels move to a new part of the jungle where he triggers Gary's Bonus Time. This can either win you a multiplier that could be as high as 1000x or one of the main bonus features.

Bonus Features

These all exist in Gary the Gorilla's Feature Kingdom. This is either triggered by Gary's Bonus Time or by getting three of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. There's four possible features that can be unlocked after a certain number of times of triggering the feature.

The first time you trigger the feature it takes you to Gorillionaire Win Spins. Here you get 10 free spins and wins are doubled. It's also possible to retrigger this feature but only once.

After the fifth trigger you can get the Stay Wild feature. This gives you ten free spins and if a wild lands on the reels it'll stay there for the duration of the free spins. They also increase the multiplier by 1x and this can go up to 10x. Again this can be retriggered but only once.

After the 10th trigger it's Mega-Rilla Multiplier time. This gives you ten free spins and any wild increases the win multiplier by 1x up to 10x. Again it can be retriggered just once.

The final feature is the More Wilds feature and this comes into play after the 15th trigger. This gives you ten free spins with up to three wilds added per spin. A great little feature, worth the wait but sadly can only be retriggered once.

Conclusion

This is a great laugh and there's lots going on in this game. Gary is great to look at apart from when having a scratch and the soundtrack isn't too bad. The features are good, make sure you have a good look through the paytable and the rules so you can understand the game fully, a few free games will help you win on this great game.
