Penalty Shootout

Penalty Shootout Slot Review

There are plenty of football games out there for you to play but this one from Playtech might just help you rid yourself of a terrible fear. For years England have had to endure penalty shootouts that always seem to knock us out of major tournaments. We've all sat there and watched as our penalties go over the crossbar or get brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper. The moment England head into a penalty shootout we might as well just head for the airport and go home.

But that can all change in this rather simple game. Playtech have been creating plenty of excellent games for nearly two decades now. Most are a lot more complex than this one but this is actually a really enjoyable game to play and also a bit addictive too.

The screen consists of a goal, a goalkeeper and five different arrows. These will decide just in which direction the ball will go. On the right of the screen there's a chart which shows your game history for your last ten kicks.

As with most games your first task is to decide your stake for the next game. In this game it ranges from £0.10 to £100. Simply go for a stake that you are comfortable with and then it's time to put your best foot forward. Decision time again and you need to work out just where you want the ball to go. Over the stand and into the car park isn't an option but I've seen it happen.

If you choose to place the ball into the top left or top right corner then this pays the highest odds of 12x your stake. The bottom left or bottom right pays just 3x your stake and right down the middle (always a laugh when a player does that and the goalie dives to the left or right) is 5x your stake.

Sometimes the goalie has a bit of an off-day and will completely miss the ball and you score a goal. That's not often the case though and at times the goalie can be the next Peter Shilton or Gordon Banks and make an incredible save. If that happens a message comes up saying 'Keeper Saved the Shot' which is a bit obvious really. If you are successful and the ball hits the back of the net then that possibly means you have some German blood in you or are Matt Le Tissier.

Conclusion

Many a tear has been shed during a penalty shootout and often it's English people who are doing that. This is a pretty basic game and you won't win a fortune playing it. However, there is plenty of fun to be had in playing this game and it can get a bit addictive as you strive to keep on beating the goalkeeper. Not the best Playtech game by a long shot but still fun nevertheless and it might help heal a few wounds that have been caused by all those past English disasters.
