Rhyming Reels – Jack and Jill

Rhyming Reels - Jack and Jill Slot Review

We probably all remember the nursery rhymes that we were taught as schoolchildren. Well, Microgaming who just keep on coming up with some excellent games, have released three games based on nursery rhymes including of course this one.

Jack and Jill famously went up a hill to fetch a pail of water, why it took two of them to do that we don’t know. Sadly as is the case with a lot of nursery rhymes disaster lay ahead for the pair. Poor Jack fell down and broke his crown and the shock of that must have been why Jill came tumbling down. Just what the pair were doing to cause this unfortunate fall is best not asking about.

Jack and Jill appear to be a little bit older in this slot game and the general idea is that when Jack and Jill went up that hill, getting a pail of water was probably the last thing on their minds. With a background that features lots of hearts, this pair are madly in love with each other.

The game has a total of five reels and on its three rows of symbols there are 20 paylines. Hopefully those will be kind to you and give you lots of winning combinations. Playing the game costs you between £0.01 and £100 for all you high rollers out there.

Symbols in the game include the standard playing cards (ten to Ace). The rest are all theme-related and really do add a new look to the Jack and Jill story. One symbol includes Jack falling over and Jill has got her top off and her underwear is on the well! Her hands are protecting the important parts of her anatomy but that wasn’t in the nursery rhyme I was taught. We also get a first aid kit that is a bit more technically advanced than brown paper and vinegar. There’s also an image of Jack and Jill together (and behaving themselves) and they also both appear on separate symbols.

The wild symbol is Jack and Jill logo and can substitute for other symbols to get you some winning combinations. There’s also the bucket of water which is the scatter symbol that helps get you into the bonus game.

The game can be played in regular or expert mode. The only real difference is the fact you can set an autoplay. Handy if you want some time away from the screen to go and get some water from a well up a hill with your girlfriend.

Before you start playing the game for real, have some free games and also have a look through the paytable. That is packed with information about the game including how much the winning combinations pay. For example, five of the scatters pays you 10,000x your stake. Five of the Jack symbols pays a multiplier of 15,000x and five Jill symbols wins you 10,000x your line bet.

Bonus Game

If you can get at least three of the scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, then this gets you 15 free spins. Even better there is a 4x multiplier on any wins that you get during those free spins.

Conclusion

A fairly standard slot in terms of gameplay. It has a good look to it and a pleasant enough soundtrack. There are some good wins to be had if getting five matching symbols and the bonus game can be lucrative with those quadrupled wins. Definitely recommended.
