Just as game producers used to love fruit being part of their slot machines, aliens from outer space are another popular choice for game symbols. They come from planets all over the galaxy and in all shapes and sizes but usually more likely to make you giggle than shake with fear. That’s definitely the case in ‘Galacticons’ from Microgaming. They’ve been producing slot games for a couple of decades now and most of them are simply out of this world.
This is a five reel game and has a total of 243 different ways to win. The reels seem to be set inside some kind of spaceship and it doesn’t look to be of the flying saucer variety. The cost of playing the game ranges from
The symbols are a mixture of theme-related ones and playing card symbols. We get a small spaceship and then there’s the aliens that come in the red, blue and purple variety. Padding out the reels are the nine to Ace playing card symbols. I’d have preferred to see more aliens to be honest.
The wild in this game is the blue Milky Way (I prefer Galaxy myself) and this substitutes for all the other symbols apart from the scatter. That’s the sun and as you’ll read it plays a big part in getting you into the bonus game so it’s a symbol to keep an eye out for.
With this being a 243 ways to win game, this means you get wins as long as the matching symbols are in adjacent wins. This means you’ll be getting plenty of winning spins but mainly of the lower value kind.
If the wild symbol forms a winning combination it doubles the amount won.
Bonus Games
You‘ve all heard of the Big Bang Theory, well here’s the Big Bang Feature. This can be triggered by landing at least three of the sun scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. Three will see you earning 10 free spins, four get you 15 and five means you have 20 free spins in which to try and earn some cash.
Keep an eye out for the black hole because this really helps you get some winning combinations during the free spins round. After each spin of the reels it floats to a different section of the reels and depending on what it lands next to has a different reaction.
If it’s next to one of the character symbols or the spaceship then you get a random bonus multiplier. This can be between 1x and 5x of the line bet you had when triggering the free spins.
If it lands next to a sun scatter symbol then you get an additional free spin. Landing next to the Milky Way has the result of it being sucked in and any prizes won on that spin are doubled. It’s not possible to re-trigger the free spins but hopefully you’ll get a few more anyway.

I love games that have aliens in them. This is a really entertaining game and the bonus rounds really do present you with the chance of getting some good wins.
