Treasure Nile

Treasure Nile Slot Review

I think if we all had a pound for every Egyptian themed slot game out there, we might not need to be playing the games. It's such a popular theme but the problem is that with so many out there, how do you come up with something that is a bit different from all the others? Well, Treasure Nile does its best to do that and this slot game from superb slot designing company Microgaming was their first five-reel nine payline game and has a progressive jackpot that you'll definitely want to get your hands on.

Playing the game is relatively easy with all the control buttons straightforward to find and use. The cost of playing the game is a little bit more expensive ranging from £0.50 to £4.50. As you'll read it's important to be playing all the paylines here, just bet what you can afford to lose.

The symbols are all theme-related, no playing card symbols here which is good to see. We get gold necklaces, cobras that I’d run a mile from, the Sphinx, The Ankh, a ship and ancient scrolls. The pharoah symbol is one to look out for as five of those have a 6000x multiplier and five of the Sphinx pays 3000x.

The wild symbol is the pyramids and this is a really important symbol to keep an eye out for as it has the ability to substitute for other symbols to get you some wins out of nowhere. It can't help you get the progressive jackpot though, more about that later on in this review.

Most of the wins in this game are paid left to right. That’s not the case though with the scatter symbol which is the scarab. That can pay out by being anywhere on the reels and it can’t be substituted by the wild. If you're lucky enough to get a winning combination and scatters turn up on the reels then you get paid for both. Three scatters anywhere on the reels pays you 5x your stake on that spin, get five and it's 50x your stake.

The game can be played in regular or expert mode. The main difference between the two is that in expert mode you can set an autoplay, handy if you want some time away from the screen. It's important to make sure you know as much as you can about the game so look through the paytable and enjoy some free games too. All useful in building up your knowledge of the game.

Bonus Games

There are no free spins round or pick 'em round to aim for in 'Treasure Nile.' What is on the line though is the progressive jackpot. To win that you need to get five Pharoahs but there’s a catch. That winning combination has to be on the ninth payline. It’s been known for the progressive jackpot to be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds so it’s definitely well worth getting your hands on. You do need to be activating all the paylines though so keep an eye on your budget.

Conclusion

The look of this game is one of its strong points. It really does look great and I love the fact there are no playing card symbols. The lack of a bonus round might disappoint some people but there is that progressive jackpot to aim for. Just don't chase it too much, there are still some other good wins to be had here.
