Jewels of the Orient Video Slot Review
When you play slot games it really can be a trip through time and all around the globe. In ‘Jewels of the Orient’ we’re off to Asia rather than a jewellery shop in the east end of London. It’s an interesting game for sure from Microgaming who always seem to come up with the goods and it has some good prizes up for grabs.
The game has five reels and just the nine paylines for you to try and win some cash on. The minimum cost of playing the game is £0.01 and the maximum £180. It’s best to just work out a financial budget and stick to it.
Symbols in the game include a variety of Asian girls in national dress, these come from India, Thailand, China, Korea and Japan making for some striking symbols. There’s some jewels too and a jewel box but the real jewels here are the girls. It’s the game logo that is the wild symbol in this game. This can substitute for other symbols in the game to get you some winning combinations you wouldn’t otherwise have had. There’s also a scatter symbol which is the palace and this can get you into the bonus game and really win you some great prizes.
The game can be played in either regular or expert mode. Not much difference here apart from the ability in expert mode to set an autoplay. This can be done by simply setting five or ten or a more precise method.
You can also access some statistics which tell you useful information such as how long you’ve been playing and your best wins which is something that’s always good to be reminded of.
If you can get at least three of the scatter symbols landing anywhere on the reels then this gets you into the bonus game. That also means you don’t have to be activating all the paylines all the time. Just how many scatter symbols trigger the bonus round is really important.
There are some oriental gentleman who have a pick ‘em job which determines how many free spins, the multiplier and the reward you get. Three scatters mean a choice between 10 and 15 free spins, a 1x to 5x multiplier and 5x to 25x your total bet. Four scatters increase the free spins to 15 or 20, again the multiplier is 1x to 5x and possibly 20x to 100x your total bet. If you’re lucky enough to get five scatters then the free spins on offer are 20-40, the multiplier option stays the same (a bit disappointing) but you could win between 50x and 120x your total bet.
This is another great release from Microgaming which is no big surprise. The theme is an interesting one and the graphics are pretty good. Getting into the bonus rounds is the big target here because that’s where the money can really roll in, especially if you get four or five scatters triggering the round. Definitely a great game to play.
