Lady in Red

Lady in Red Slot Review

Three words that tend to get you thinking of the Chris de Burgh hit from 1986 – have we really been inflicted with that tune for 30 years? Well thankfully we don’t have to listen to or more likely endure that song because this slot from successful slot designers Microgaming is simply about a lady who just loves wearing red clothing.

It is a bit romantic though and beware, it may well be de Burgh free but the soundtrack here isn’t that much better. Thank heavens for the mute button.

This is a five-reel game that has a total of 25 paylines. You don’t have to play all those lines at the same time, the choice is entirely yours. Playing the game costs between £0.01 and £50 so finding a level you'll feel comfortable with won't be a problem.

The game is set inside a jazz club and our lady in red just happens to be the singer there. The symbols in the game include a tumbler of whiskey, the band, a napkin that has a lipstick stain on it, some roses (red of course) and the singer (naturally in red). Five of the singer symbols will win you 2500x your line bet.

It’s the Lady in Red logo that is the wild symbol here. It can substitute for other symbols and help you get some winning combinations you wouldn’t otherwise have had. It can’t substitute for the camera though as that’s the scatter symbol in ‘Lady in Red’ and as you’ll read, it plays an integral part in activating the bonus game.

There's also the nine to Ace playing card symbols which is probably one too many of the lower paying symbols. Perhaps it'd have been an idea to relate them to the theme somehow by making them red, but that's not the case here.

If you want to know more about the game, make sure you read the paytable and the game rules. That and playing some free games will certainly help you find out just how the game runs.

Bonus Game

There's only one bonus game in this slot and it's of the free spins variety. To trigger it you need to be able to get three of the camera scatter symbols. These don't have to be on just the single payline, they can be anywhere on the reels so that means you don't have to be activating all the paylines all the time.

Three of the camera scatter symbols will award you a total of 15 free spins. Four will take that up to 20 and five see you given 25. You'll be keen to get as many free spins as possible due to the fact that all wins in the bonus round are tripled. It's good news therefore that you can re-trigger the free spins if those cameras keep on appearing on the reels.

Conclusion

An enjoyable game from Microgaming if you exclude the horrible soundtrack. The theme is an ok one but we're most interested in how the game can win you some money. That's definitely a possibility thanks to the lucrative bonus game. If you can keep getting those free spins re-triggered then your account balance will really start to prosper.
