Monty Python’s Spamalot Slot

Monty Python's Spamalot Slot Review

Just think if you get a big win in this game you could go out and buy a shrubbery. This is one of the funniest slot games that you'll play, even funnier than the Life of Brian slot that gave me many a laugh. It's hard to believe that it's nearly 50 years since Monty Python's Flying Circus began on the BBC. Since then there's been films, stage shows and CDs plus the Spamalot musical on which this game is based.

The Eric Idle musical is based on their movie 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' with a few other Python routines thrown in for good measure. I saw it at our local theatre last year with Joe Pasquale and it's a great laugh and not just Joe "I've had an accident" Pasquale's singing.

This is a five reel slot with 20 paylines that has lots happening in it as you'll realize from the size of the bonus games section in this review. Playing the game costs between £0.01 and £1000, the latter figure isn't as high as the monthly alimony bill that John Cleese has but is still a sizeable figure. Just go for a stake you can afford to lose.

Symbols in the game include Sir Lancelot, King Arthur, Sir Galahad and the Lady of the Lake who'll probably moan if she doesn't make an appearance on the reels for a few spins. The Holy Grail is the wild symbol and this can substitute for other symbols apart from the scatter symbol which is the Monty Python logo and the bonus symbol which is a cloud that has a foot sticking out of the bottom. Filling out the reels are the 10 to Ace playing card symbols.

Bonus Games

There are four bonus games here and all are triggered by getting the bonus symbol on the first and fifth reels. The four games follow each other, basically four acts in a play. It all starts with the Storm The Castle Bonus. In this game you have to make a choice from six prize circles that have our courageous knights on them. This reveals cash prizes. Here's a sight that you could only see in a Monty Python related slot. While you are making your choices those horrible French people in their castle are throwing a cow at you. If the cow hits the target then the bonus game ends, if the poor old cow misses you can carry on making choices and winning more money.

The second bonus game is entitled 'None Shall Pass.' Not one for the squeamish but still funny and profitable. You have four chances to chop a limb off the Ridiculously Brave Knight. If you hit him you win a cash prize, miss and the multiplier which starts at a generous 5x drops by one.

The third game is the 'Knights Who Say Ni' game. Here you have to offer a shrubbery to the Knights. They'll tempt you with a cash prize for it but if you turn it down then you only have three more chances to accept an offer. The final bonus game is the 'Killer Rabbit' game. There are five rocks that you need to navigate our knights round. Behind one of them is that dreaded beast the Killer Rabbit. You need to throw a grenade at one of the rocks add the knight crosses as long as you hit the rabbit. Miss and the rabbit eats the knight and you have to try again to win. There are six knights at the start of the game and each one that avoids being eaten wins you some cash.

There's even more because if you get three scatter symbols anywhere on the reels then this gets you ten free spins. Your chances of winning are increased because after each spin between one and five wilds are added to the reels. Get five jackpot symbols during these free spins and you win entry to the Holy Grail Jackpot game.

That's the progressive jackpot in this eventful slot and you need to go through six levels and avoid being squashed by that giant foot.

Conclusion

This really is a fun game to play and Monty Python fans in particular will lap it up. The bonus games are both funny and profitable so you'll love playing this Playtech slot.
