Untamed Giant Panda

Untamed Giant Panda Slot Review

Here’s another game in the Microgaming ‘Untamed’ series. We’ve had Bengal tigers and Wolf Packs, now it’s the turn of the Untamed Giant Panda. It’s very similar in gameplay to the other games in the series but of course the look is very different one.

The Chinese background can be seen via the transparent reels. This time we’re in China with a bamboo forest where everything is green apart from the sky. ‘Untamed Giant Panda’ has five reels, three rows of symbols and an impressive 243 ways to get a winning combination. That’s because wins can be achieved via matching symbols on adjacent reels.

Symbols are a mixture of those that are theme-related and the lower value Ten to Ace playing card symbols. The high value ones are a panda sitting on the ground probably wondering why there are so few of them left, a panda cub, a giant panda and a mountainous landscape.

The wild symbol is the Untamed Giant Panda. This is a really important symbol in this game. Not only will it get you some good wins by substituting for other symbols but as you’ll read it also activates the Collect a Wild Bonus feature. The scatter symbol is the Panda Eye and this helps get you into the free spins round.

Bonus Games

During the base game keep an eye on the boxes that are underneath each of the five reels. At the start of the game these will be empty but when you get a wild symbol land on the reels at the end of a spin, one of the boxes will fill up. Once all four are filled up the reel turns entirely wild and you receive four free spins. Now that’s going to give you a great chance of getting some winning combinations. It’s actually possible to get several reels completely wild if your luck is really in. Just depends if more wilds turn up during the free spins.

Three or more of the Panda Eye scatter symbols will earn you ten free spins. Again the wild symbol plays an important role here. If one arrives then it’ll become sticky and stay in position for the rest of the free spins.

When you get a win in the base game you can go for the gamble feature if you so wish. Alternatively you can decline the offer and just go onto the next spin knowing your account balance has just increased. If you do go for the gamble it’s a game where there’s a big dial on a circle. You can choose how much to gamble, the more you do, the more the size of the winning section will change. Then spin the dial and if it lands in the win section you’re a winner. If not, then you just lose and it’s onto the next spin of the reels.

Conclusion

An entertaining game that has a good look to it. You can’t really go wrong with pandas they all look so spectacular. The gameplay is similar to the others in the ‘Untamed’ series but the 243 ways to win, the wild feature and the free spins are all good ways of winning money. Be careful with the gamble feature though, it’s an easy way to give back hard earned wins.
