Silver Fang

Silver Fang Slot Review

Slot games do love to use animals and here’s another one. We’ve had everything from giraffes to gorillas, cats to crocodiles and now it’s the turn of a wolf in this slot from Microgaming.

This has five reels and there’s 50 paylines for you to try and get some wins on. Those paylines aren't a fixed amount so you have a few decisions to make in this game. What coin size to play with, how many to put on a line (maximum 10) and how many paylines to activate. The maximum amount that can be staked on the spin of a reels is £25 and the minimum just £0.01.

In the background we see a landscape that’s full of trees and it’s been snowing quite heavily. The main symbols are the wolf, an elk who looks as if he has something on his mind and the Silver Fang logo. We also get the ten to Ace playing card symbols.

The wild in this game is the Howling Wolf and can substitute for other symbols. This is really handy of course and can get you some winning combinations. It can’t sub for the paw print which is the scatter symbol in this game.
Take a good look through the paytable to find out as much as you can about the game before playing it. This gives details of how much each winning combination is worth and information about the bonus game.

There's a nice touch with the wolf who starts howling when you get a winning combination. That certainly adds to the theme of the game.

Bonus Games

If you can get at least three of the paw print scatter symbols anywhere on the reels then this gets you 15 free spins. This is a round really worth triggering for two very good reasons. Firstly, the wild symbols become stacked and all wins are subject to a 5x multiplier. It’s also possible to re-trigger the free spins if the scatters arrive in triplicate again.

The game also has a gamble feature and even though the idea of doubling or quadrupling your wins may sound attractive, this is a feature to be wary of. This will crop up after you get a winning combination and you don't have to play this. If you want, just take the win and go onto the next spin with your increased account balance. If you do decide to take the gamble, it's the question of what is the colour or suit of the next card. Get the colour right to double a win or the suit to quadruple it. You're allowed five correct guesses but get one wrong and you lose all your winnings.

Conclusion

A fairly straightforward but not very spectacular slot. The symbols look ok and the theme is alright but the maximum stake level won't thrill high rollers. The use of stacked wilds and the 5x multiplier makes the bonus game a good one though. Be careful with the gamble feature though, it's so easy to get carried away with that.
